OUR STORY
Built from experience.
Rooted in community.
Shift Power Yoga was built by someone who needed what she was building — and spent over two decades refining it into something genuinely extraordinary.
HOW WE GOT HERE
We didn't set out to build a studio.
We set out to build a home.
Shift Power Yoga opened its doors in West Kelowna in 2014. But the story started much earlier — with a mat, a practice, and the gradual, undeniable discovery that yoga doesn't just change your body. It changes everything.
"The practice healed my back. What I didn't expect was that it would heal everything else too."
— Pam Rader, Founder
What we built at SPY reflects that discovery. Not a gym with yoga classes. Not a boutique studio for a certain type of person. A community where every body, every level, and every reason for showing up is genuinely welcome.
Over the years we've graduated twenty teacher training cohorts, supported hundreds of people through significant life transitions, and created a studio culture that the Okanagan returns to again and again.

WHAT WE STAND FOR
Our mission is simple.
And we never lose sight of it.
To create a space where people can show up exactly as they are — and leave more fully themselves than when they arrived. Every class, every training, every interaction in this building is in service of that.
Excellence in teaching
Every teacher on our schedule is trained, mentored, and held to the highest standard in the Okanagan. We never phone it in.
Genuine welcome
From your first class to your hundredth, you will be seen, acknowledged, and encouraged. The warmth here is not performative — it's who we are.
Consistent experience
You'll never walk out of an SPY class wondering what just happened. Every class is structured, intentional, and delivered with care.
Depth over surface
We believe yoga works — not just on the body, but on the nervous system, the relationships, the inner life. We go there.

MEET THE FOUNDER & LEAD TEACHER
Pam Rader
ERYT500
BAPTISTE 500HR
STRATEGIC INTERVENTION COACH
BEST- SELLING AUTHOR
TEACHING SINCE 1999
Pam is the owner of Shift Power Yoga and the leader of a spectacular tribe of teachers. In 1999 she began practicing yoga to heal her back — and found that it healed her life, and empowered her in ways she never dreamed possible.
She is an ERYT500 and 500hr certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, and the founder and facilitator of the Shift Power Yoga Institute — SPY's 200hr and 300hr Registered Yoga Teacher Training school. She has personally guided twenty cohorts of students through transformation that goes far beyond the mat.
Pam is a best-selling author, certified Strategic Intervention Life Coach, speaker, podcast host (Grit & Grace), and leadership development facilitator. She co-founded the Lit From Within Project, a grassroots fundraising initiative funding yoga and meditation integration in trauma, mental health, and addiction recovery facilities throughout the Okanagan.
Always a student herself, Pam remains in ongoing training with Baron Baptiste and her many guides and teachers. Her coaching programs and leadership work live at pamrader.com.
THE TEACHING TEAM
Taught by people who've
done the work themselves.
Every teacher at SPY is trained in our methodology — most are graduates of our own teacher training program. They don't just teach yoga. They live it.

Carol Domanko
SENIOR TEACHER · TEACHING · SINCE 2011
Carol discovered yoga while studying Film Production at UBC and never looked back. A graduate of SPY's 200 and 300-Hour Teacher Trainings, she has been teaching since 2011 and loves leading everything from Power to Yin.
A massage therapist with a gift for hands-on assists, Carol brings an extra layer of body awareness and care to every class. She is SPY through and through — and considers this community one of her greatest gifts.

Levi Sapach
SENIOR TEACHER · YTT FACULTY
SPY 200hr and 300hr graduate, and a member of our teacher training faculty. Levi found yoga after a debilitating car accident — SPY became the home where he found acceptance, forgiveness, and community. He teaches with the generosity and honesty of someone who has lived the transformation he shares. A talented musician too — if you're lucky, he'll serenade you through savasana on his ukulele.

Ryan Burley
TEACHER
SPY 200hr and 300hr graduate. Ryan believes yoga will heal the world — and brings that conviction to every class. He's grown exponentially as a person and teacher through his years with the SPY community and Baptiste practice, and invites every student to unlock their potential, their power, and their best self.

Dawnalee Anderson
TEACHER · RESTORATIVE SPECIALIST
SPY 200hr and 300hr graduate. Dawnalee's background in healthcare and healing touch gives her a rare edge in teaching the restorative power of yoga. One of the warmest and kindest humans you'll ever meet — her hands-on assists are legendary, and her slower, more nurturing classes will fill your heart up every single time.

Michelle Boot
STUDIO MANAGER · TEACHER
Michelle is our amazing studio manager and the welcoming face of SPY. With a lifelong background in health, fitness, and gym ownership, she came to yoga as an access to self-healing — and is now a graduate of both our 200hr and 300hr programs. Her cheery enthusiasm and genuine belief that community is a game changer is felt the moment you walk through the door.

Colleen Christoffersen
TEACHER
SPY 200hr and 300hr graduate. Colleen came to yoga for the physical benefits and quickly discovered the whole-life transformation awaiting the dedicated student — and embraced it wholeheartedly. Her attention to detail and experienced eye for alignment will help you find true north in your poses and new possibilities in your life.

Caroldean Jude
TEACHER · COMMUNITY CLASSES
Known and loved as CeeDee, Caroldean is a graduate of both SPY's 200hr and 300hr teacher trainings. She brings together her love of yoga and her generous heart of service in every class she leads — and everyone who meets her understands immediately why we love her so much.

Shannon Fergusen
TEACHER · MULTI-STYLE
Shannon believes firmly that to teach, you must first and always be a student. Trained across Vinyasa, Power, Prenatal, Yin, and Restorative yoga, she brings her own distinctive style to every class — balancing strength and flexibility with creative sequencing and a mindful, playful presence. Challenging, inventive, and rather fancy. We love it.

Kasia Thesen
REGISTERED YOGA INSTRUCTOR & MINDFULNESS COACH
Kasia's journey with yoga began through her own experience with scoliosis — sparking a lifelong curiosity about the body, the nervous system, and the power of intentional movement. Her classes weave together mindful movement, breathwork, and somatic practices to help you feel grounded, strong, and more at home in yourself.
Off the mat, Kasia runs Pebble Yoga & Mindfulness, bringing the same depth of care to children, families, and schools throughout the Okanagan.
Come as you are. You'll leave feeling better.

Violet Johannson
TEACHER
A graduate of Shift Power Yoga's 200 and 300-Hour Teacher Training, Violet brings both depth and heart to every class. With a background in psychology, her teaching is creative, grounded, and full of insight — the kind that sticks with you long after you roll up your mat.
Our team is always growing. If you are an SPY graduate interested in teaching opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
COMMUNITY BEYOND THE STUDIO
Yoga belongs
in every community.
We believe the tools of yoga — breathwork, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and embodied presence — should be accessible to everyone, especially those navigating trauma, addiction recovery, and mental health challenges.
The Lit From Within Project, co-founded by Pam, is our commitment to making that possible in the Okanagan. It funds the integration of yoga and meditation into facilities that serve people who need it most.

COME SEE IT FOR YOUSELF
The best way to understand SPY
is to walk through the door.
No experience needed. No perfect body required. Come as you
are — we'll take care of the rest.
